St Non's

According to the story, the patron saint of Wales -St David – or Dewi Sant – was born to St Non, neice of King Arthur, during a mighty storm. As Non gave birth on the south coast, an unearthly light lit up the scene. Everything became calm, and a spring of crystal clear water burst forth.

You can still see the spring from the clifftop above St Non's Bay, where a stone arch covers St Non's Well. It remains a place of pilgrimage to this day, and before the Reformation, water from the well was used as holy water at St David's Cathedral.
